Rice Lake Fire Department responds to house fire


Rice Lake Fire Department (Press Release) – At approximately 4:22pm on Saturday May 11, 2013, the City of Rice Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 203 E. Coleman St in the City of Rice Lake.

Upon arrival of the first fire department unit at approximately 4:25pm found heavy fire and smoke coming from the porch and kitchen area of a two story home. Fire crews were advised that all occupants were out of the house. No one was injured. The first in crew upon entering the structure performed and aggressive interior attack. The fire was quickly knocked down.

Additional crews were utilized for salvage and overhaul to extinguish any remaining hotspots in walls and ceilings.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. All fire department units returned to service at approximately 7:45pm. The property is owned by Shawn McKeever of Rice Lake.

Preliminary dollar loss of structure and content is estimated at $81,000.
