Agency helps area mom overcome homelessness

MADISON (WKOW) -- This Mother's Day is extra special for one woman, who has overcome homelessness for her children thanks to the help of a Madison organization.

Breanna was essentially homeless at just 14-years-old, and gave birth to her son just before her 18th birthday.

The Elizabeth House, a nine-month program for pregnant woman, took Breanna in and she stayed there until she got back on her feet.

"I didn't have anywhere to go with my first son, but when I left here, I got my own place," says Breanna "I left here into my own place and I've had my own place ever since."

Breanna now has two kids and is working as a daycare provider while earning her degree.

The Elizabeth House is run by Care Net Pregnancy Center.
