MILTON (WKOW) -- A Fort Atkinson man is arrested for his 5th OWI after crashing his vehicle in Rock County.
Just before 6:00 p.m. Sunday, deputies from the Rock County Sheriff's Office, Fulton Township police and Fire/EMS from the Milton Fire Department responded to a crash at Lakeland R.V. Center on Highway 59. The driver of a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice had crashed into several parked large R.V. trailers.
The only person in the car was Scott Chadwick, 50, of Fort Atkinson. The sheriff's office says he was trapped on the passenger floorboard. Chadwick was taken to Mercy Hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators say Chadwick was going about 50 miles per hour on North Vincent Road and didn't stop for the sign at the intersection with Highway 59. The investigation shows he crossed both lanes of traffic, went airborne, then down an embankment where he hit three parked trailers.
Deputies say Chadwick admitted to drinking before the crash. He was arrested for OWI. His DOT record shows he has four prior convictions for OWI.
Chadwick was admitted to Mercy Hospital, but does not have life-threatening injuries. He also got tickets for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and Violation of Seatbelt Restraint.
