Semi crash causes back-up on I-94 Monday morning

St. Croix County (WQOW) - A semi crash spills dozens of telephone poles onto I-94.

It happened Monday morning in a construction zone near Roberts. The state patrol says a semi was heading east when the driver lost control of the rig, causing it to overturn. Troopers say the driver, from Minnesota, did not have life threatening injuries.

Traffic was backed up for four to five miles. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

St. Croix County (Press Release) - At 8:50 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 a crash occurred on I-94 eastbound at Highway 65 in St. Croix County near Roberts.

The crash involved 1 injury.

The details of the crash are as follows: Unit one was eastbound on I-94 when it lost control causing the unit to overturn blocking all eastbound lanes. Traffic was re-routed for approximately one hour. The driver, Stephen P. Tussing, 60, of Waverly, Minn., was transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting agencies included the Roberts Police Department, Hammond Police Department, St. Croix County Sheriff's Office and the Roberts Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
