Fall Creek (WQOW) - Musicians often need to re-tune. One local music department is hoping to re-tool.
A Fall Creek student nominated two music teachers for the Tools for Schools award. On Monday, WQOW News 18 and RCU presented those teachers with a check for $300. The student said Mrs. Mason and Mr. Stoughton are two of the most dedicated teachers around. She said they need new music stands and chairs, some of which have been around since the 1960's.
"Budgets are shrinking, yet we're trying to make decisions on what can make it through another year, what can make it through another five years, what are the priority items that we need today... and so the ability to use this money to improve our facilities, our items that we have, our equipment, it's fantastic," said Fall Creek Music Teacher Brad Stoughton.
Tools for Schools is a partnership between RCU and WQOW News 18. We are taking nominations for the next $300 award. Click here to apply.
