Eau Claire County residents asked to avoid outdoor burning

Eau Claire County (Press Release) - Eau Claire County Emergency Management urges citizens to avoid outdoor burning as current and forecasted conditions make local fire danger very high.

Citizens are asked to avoid the burning of any items, including recreational campfires, until conditions become more favorable.  Currently, the Department of Natural Resources has in place burning restrictions within their coverage area.

Residents are asked to monitor local conditions until which time they are safe for outdoor burning; this will occur with precipitation in our area, lower relative humidity and less wind.  Until these conditions are met, Eau Claire County Emergency Management encourages all residents to avoid outdoor burning.

Should a citizen notice a wildland fire, they are to report it immediately to 9-1-1.  Residents are asked to avoid any area where wildland fires are present.  Additionally, when the threat of a wildland fire is imminent, residents are advised to evacuate and not attempt to save property.
