DRUMMOND (WQOW) - Local volunteers have headed north to help those affected by the fire.
Around one o'clock Wednesday morning, six volunteers from the Western Wisconsin Chapter of the Red Cross arrived in Drummond. That's where a shelter has been set up to help fire evacuees.
The group brought dozens of cots, a hundred blankets, and other necessities for people who had to flee their homes. The DNR is urging those who want to help to donate to the Red Cross.
If you would like to donate, you can go to redcross.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
