Special screening coming to Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Human trafficking is a global issue, that's unfortunately also found its way into the Chippewa Valley.

A new movie called Not Today depicts the dark industry of child sex trafficking in India.

A local business owner discovered the movie and was inspired to shine a light on this issue.

The movie makers budgeted enough to screen the film in a limited number of cities nationwide, meaning to get the movie to Eau Claire, someone would need to step forward with funding.

The Living Room Coffee House decided to secure the 400 tickets required to bring the film here.

The owners hope the film will inspire others.

"That's the way any change is going to be made, anywhere.  Is by people talking about it and getting involved and actually not just wanting to do something, but actually doing something," says owner Ron Lovelien.

You can see the movie starting this Friday night at 7 p.m. at Micon Cinemas in Eau Claire.

On opening night there will be information about human trafficking and how and why it's happening close to home.

Advanced tickets are $6 a piece.

To purchase, visit any Living Room Coffee House location or Micon Cinemas.
