Teenagers fighting could lead to charges

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say they have probable cause to arrest two young teenagers in connection with a fight.

The dispute began on Facebook and escalated into a fight between two girls Tuesday afternoon.  The girls each brought several friends as they faced-off in a park area near N. Sixth Street.

The 15-year-old victim stated a 14-year-old, with whom she was exchanging blows, was given a padlock by another girl.  The suspect then struck the 15-year-old in the face with the lock, causing facial cuts and a fat lip.

Following the brawl, another 14-year-old girl pulled out a butcher knife, however, did not use it against anyone.

The 14-year-old girls could face charges.
