Local beaches closed due to high bacteria levels

Posted:

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - It may be a bit cool to think about heading to the beach just yet, but local health officials want you to know the water is off limits at some popular area beaches.

High bacteria levels have been detected in the water. That has forced the Eau Claire County Health Department to close the beaches at Coon Fork Lake, Big Falls wading area, and Lake Eau Claire Beach. Altoona Beach tested out okay.
