Woman who crashed into city hall now faces third "huffing" charge

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The woman accused of crashing her car into city hall after allegedly huffing, now faces a third charge of huffing.

Denise marten was arrested on Wednesday. Police say someone called 911 after hearing a man and a woman having a loud fight. When officers tried talking with Marten, she appeared drunk and was slurring her speech. She admitted to police that she had been drinking, and officers found multiple cans of keyboard cleaner both used and unused in her car.

Marten told police she had also been huffing before a court appearance that day on charges stemming from the city hall crash back in April. Officers said they found items in her car that led them to believe she may have been huffing just prior to that crash. Marten was also picked up a week later on additional charges of abusing a hazardous substance.

Marten is due back in court next week.
