National Park police end furloughs

WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- The furloughs are ending early for U.S. Park police.

The National Park Service says it's saved enough money.

Park officers were each supposed to take 12 to 14 unpaid days off by the end of September, because of the federal sequester cuts.

But, cost-cutting measures at the Park Service have allowed it to stop the furloughs June 1.
