Crews scuba dive to clean up Madison lakes

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Scuba divers will take a plunge into Madison lakes this weekend for the annual "Take a Stake in the Lakes" event.

It's an event to collect trash and debris from the bottom of our lakes. Last year, crews collected over 2300 pounds of trash out of the lakes.

For more than 25 years, Take a Stake volunteers have been working to protect and improve the lakes, streams and wetlands of Dane County. Join in the celebration by participating in the wide range of activities and events happening in and around Dane County lakes, rivers and wetlands all year long.

Watch Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend to learn more about this event.
