UPDATE: La Crosse store homicide victim, suspect identified

LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- La Crosse police are investigating a homicide that happened after a fight at a convenience store.

Police say 24-year-old Demario B. Lee, of La Crosse, was hurt in a fight around 3:30 a.m. at a Kwik Trip store. A police statement says responding officers found a crime scene inside the store. Lee was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

WXOW-TV reports police believe the suspect is 25-year-old Mitrel Y. Anderson, of La Crosse. He's wanted for first-degree intentional homicide.

According to a statement, police "recovered a vehicle used during the commission of this crime and (the) investigation has lead (them) to believe the suspect, Mitrel Anderson, has fled the area."

The department says the incident appears to be isolated.

Around 3:30 a.m. on June 2nd, police responded to a report that someone was hurt in a fight at Kwik Trip.  A police statement says the officers "found a crime scene inside the store."

The male victim was taken to a hospital where he died from injuries.  His name has not been released.

Right now, police are not giving out many details.  They say more details could be released Sunday afternoon or at a possible news conference on June 3rd.

The department says this appears to be an isolated incident.
