MADISON (WKOW) -- University Ridge Golf Course is the home of the WIAA boys state golf tournament for the 20th straight year. After day one of the two day tournament, Sauk Prairie's RJ Budd is in good position to take the title in Division-one. Budd is in a tie for first at 3-under par, birdieing four holes on the day. He is two shots ahead of Stoughton's Henry Klongland, who went into the clubhouse at 1-under.
In Division-two, Edgerton holds a commanding 12-shot lead. Edgerton looks to win the state title for the second year in a row. Individually, Edgerton teammates Brooks Johnson and Andrew Morrison are one, two on the leaderboard respectively. Morrison holds a 2-shot lead over his teammate at 1-under par.
In Division-three, Pardeeville's Brady Ohlin is in a three-way tie for first at even-par. Defending D3 champ Josh Smith of Southwestern is one shot off the lead at 1-over. Pardeeville is six shots off the lead at 34-over in the team competition; they Osseo-Fairchild.
