UW-Milwaukee creates phone app for county info

Posted:

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- A new smart phone application will provide real-time GPS tracking of Milwaukee County Transit System busses, information on bus routes and schedules.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's new Mobile Innovation Lab worked with Milwaukee County to create its first product.

According to the school, the new Mobile Innovation Lab employs UW-Milwaukee students who work on real-world projects for school researchers and area nonprofits.

UW-Milwaukee Chancellor Michael Lovell, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and others are expected to release more information about the lab, nicknamed the App Brewery, and the phone app Tuesday afternoon.
