Former Marine charged with homicide may change plea

ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) - A former Marine accused of killing his girlfriend may change his plea.

Officials with the Adams County District Attorney's office told our sister station, WAOW, Coleman Dybul may change his plea to not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. Dybul has previously pleaded not guilty to charges of First Degree Reckless Homicide.

Dybul is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Toni Voss, 27. Prosecutors say Voss was killed after she returned to bed and started Dybul, who reached for his shotgun. Court records say Dybul told investigators he thought Voss was being attacked.

Dybul served in the Marines from 2003 to 2007.

His plea hearing has been scheduled for June 19.
