Governor Walker weighs in on Confluence Project


Eau Claire (WQOW)- The next big step for Eau Claire's Confluence Project could come in a matter of weeks.

Developers hope the project will be taken up by the city council later this month.  The meeting will be a chance to discuss the recently released Venuworks study which goes over a governance structure for the $85 million project.  Developers plan to ask for a financial commitment from the city.  This week, Governor Walker was asked about the project when he was in town. 

"In this case, what I like best about this particular project here in Eau Claire is that it is leveraging public and private dollars and I think that's going to be the wave of the future," says Governor Walker.

Private fundraising continues as organizers have raised about $3.5 million so far.
