Mt. Horeb, Middleton girls soccer headed to state with sectional final wins


VERONA (WKOW) -- 100 minutes went by without a goal, but Middleton scored twice in a shootout to get past Oregon 2-0, earning its first trip to the state tournament since 2007. Bridget Arnold and Ryleigh Wolff scored the two shootout goals for Middleton, while Meghan Ledin made the final save to get her Cardinals past the Panthers. Middleton will face the sectional final winner of Waukesha West and Kettle Moraine in the state quarterfinals on Thursday at 5pm at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

In Division 2, Mt. Horeb sealed its second straight trip to the state tournament with a 3-0 win over Madison Edgewood in the sectional final. The Lady Vikings will face Xavier in the state semis on Friday at 1 pm
