6-year-old Sun Prairie girl raises money to get diabetic alert dog

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A 6-year-old girl from Sun Prairie needs your help to raise the remaining money to purchase a diabetic alert dog.

She has raised enough money to make the deposit for the dog and is now holding an event to raise the rest of the money. Piper Jackson and Tegan Peterson joined Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend.

A diabetic alert dog would help monitor Piper's insulin levels. The dog would use its sense of smell to help Piper. Right now, the dog is being trained in Las Vegas. They hope to have the dog in Sun Prairie by the start of the school year.

The event will be on June 22 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a silent auction. The bidding will start at 4:00 p.m. at Horizon Elementary School at 625 North Heatherstone Drive in Sun Prairie.

Admission is $5 dollars per person or $20 dollars per family.
