DENVER (WKOW) -- A City of Madison Utility employee, featured recently on Wake Up Wisconsin, competed on the national stage this week. Kara Jafferis can assemble a water meter in just 60 seconds. She represented the state in the "Meter Madness" competition in Denver.

During Monday's challenge, Jafferis finished 7th out of 23 competitors. She was the first woman to represent the Wisconsin in the competition.

Her city co-workers say they're extremely proud of her efforts.
