FOND DU LAC (WKOW) -- Fond du Lac police are looking for the man who stole a van, with a 9-year-old child in it Monday.

Officers say a woman was shopping in Shopko on W. Johnson Street around 5:00 that night, after leaving her son and the keys in the van's ignition.

When she came back outside, the van and the boy were gone.

Police aren't sure if the suspect knew the boy was in the van.  The man dropped the child off, unhurt, in the Military Road and Seymour Street area.  He then left traveling south on Military Road.

The boy had a cell phone with him and called his father.  Police say the child was not threatened by the suspect in any way.

They describe the man as Hispanic, in his early 20's and wearing a plain black shirt and long black shorts.  He has tattoos covering both arms.  The missing van is a silver 2002 Chrysler Town and Country with "IAMOOC" license plates.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fond du Lac Police Detective Bill Ledger at 920-322-3723.
