UPDATE: Damaged Walmart reopens in Lake Delton

LAKE DELTON (WKOW) -- The Walmart damaged by heavy rains Monday has reopened, according to a representative of the Lake Delton store.

Construction crews remain on site to make repairs from the roof collapse.

LAKE DELTON (WKOW) -- Heavy rains caused a partial roof collapse at the Walmart on Commerce St. in Lake Delton, according to Sauk County police.

Sgt. Bill Hitchcock says the store's water removal system overloaded. Six people were in the shipping and receiving area when the roof collapsed, but no one was injured.

Hitchcock says the store was evacuated and closed immediately, and store engineers would inspect the other parts of the roof.

LAKE DELTON (WKOW) -- The Sauk County Sheriff's Office confirms there was a partial roof collapse at the Walmart in Lake Delton.

Officers say the collapse was in a receiving area.

A spokeswoman from Walmart confirmed the store is closed due to roof damage from the strong wind during Wednesday's storm. She said the company is working to get crews on site to assess the damage.

Both Walmart and the Sauk County Sheriff's Office said no injuries were reported.
