UPDATE: Power outages in southern Wisconsin


MADISON (WKOW) -- As of 11 p.m. Wednesday, Alliant Energy reports more than 300 homes are without power.

Alliant's website shows 357 customers in Columbia County don't have electricity. That's down from more than 1,100 earlier Wednesday.

We Energies has thousands of customers without power, most of them in southeastern Wisconsin. Milwaukee County has more than 6,700 customers affected.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Alliant Energy's website lists well over a thousand homes without power Wednesday evening after strong storms moved across the area.

The county most impacted, by far, is Columbia, where Alliant Energy says more than 1,100 households were without power as of 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The county with the next highest number of outages in the WKOW viewing area at that time was Walworth, with 50 homes.
