Woman gets jail time for stealing money from employer

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin woman is sentenced for stealing thousands of dollars from the medical center where she worked.

Kristine M. Johnson of Milltown was charged after $19,000 went missing over a period of time from the St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls.

Investigators say Johnson admitted taking money because she felt under-appreciated, under-paid and over-worked. Johnson was sentenced Wednesday to two weeks in jail.

The loss was covered by insurance, but Johnson was ordered to pay the medical center's $500 deductible.
