Sauk County farmer fined in raw milk case

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Sauk County farmer accused of selling raw milk gets off with just a fine.

Vernon Hershberger was sentenced in Sauk County Court on Thursday.

He was arrested in 2010 for running a dairy plant and selling milk without a license. Hershberger was acquitted in May on three charges of producing, processing and selling milk without proper state licenses, but he was convicted of violating a holding order.

He paid a paid a $1,500 fine Thursday after the sentencing.
