YMCA summer sport camps keep kids healthy and active

MADISON (WKOW) -- The YMCA of Dane County offers summer day camps to give kids and teens a way to stay active and healthy this summer.

It's designed to keep our youth moving, learning and exploring. The YMCA summer sports camp kicks off this week. It's a healthy way to make new friends and memories.

The goal of the sports camp is to help participants improve their interest in specific sports along with their physical fitness levels. Nutritional guidance will be provided during the program and participants are encouraged to bring healthy lunches and snacks.

Sports offered include: baseball, softball, basketball, field hockey, floor hockey, golf, soccer, tennis, volleyball, bocce ball, football, Frisbee, golf, badminton, track and field, biking, skate boarding, swimming and weekly field trips.

Camps are offered at the East YMCA, Northeast YMCA and West YMCA (Elver Park). It's for kids ages 7 to 12 and runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is a $25 dollar registration fee per child. The camp runs from June 10 to August 30.
