Dozens hurt after deck collapse in Florida

NORTH BAY VILLAGE, FL (WKOW) – After an outdoor deck collapse at a popular Miami-area sports bar, dozens of people fell into Biscayne Bay.

Authorities say the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday as customers were watching the Miami Heat play the San Antonio Spurs at Shucker's Bar and Grill in North Bay Village.

Officials estimate about 100 people fell into the shallow water.  Miami-Dade Fire Chief David Downey says 24 people were taken to area hospitals for cuts and bruises and one person suffered a fracture.

As of Thursday night, authorities say two people were in serious condition.

Sports bar customers and rescuers helped people from the water amid the chaos and rush to find people.
