House fire quickly extinguished in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC (WKOW) – No one was hurt after a late night fire broke out in Fond du Lac on Thursday.

Authorities responded to the 100 block of East Johnson Street around 9:55 p.m. and saw flames showing on the outside of the house.

Fond du Lac firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but not before it caused moderate damage to the side of the building as it moved up the outer wall of the house.

Fire Chief Peter O'Leary says, "The resident had an outside fire pit burning in the back yard, but it was not in close proximity to where the fire broke out."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  No one was injured during the fire and the residents have been allowed to return back home.
