MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The Mt. Horeb girls soccer program is clearly on the rise, as the Vikings sealed their second straight trip to the D2 state final. Mt. Horeb simply made its first trip to state in 2012, but the team finds itself playing for a title once again. The Vikings got by Xavier 1-0 on Friday in the D2 semifinal thanks to a goal from Shianna Schmit-Colvin. 53:28 into the game, Schmit-Colvin stole a clearing pass from the Xavier goaltender and knocked in what ended up being the game winning goal. It was Schmit-Colvin's first ever varsity goal. Mt. Horeb will face Catholic Memorial in the D2 state final on Saturday at noon.
