Entire city turns back the clock to 1864 for the Columbus Carriage Festival

COLUMBUS (WKOW) -- Imagine an entire city turning back the clock to 1864.

That's what Columbus, Wisconsin will do this Father's Day weekend. They're transforming itself into the Victorian-era community it once was during the Civil War. The event is called the Columbus Horse & Carriage Festival.

Horse and carriage competitions will take place at Fireman's Park. Also featured will be Civil War re-enactors, a parade and live music. The goal is to honor the community's role during the Civil War.

The event will start on Saturday, June 15 and run to Sunday, June 16. All proceeds go to making a pavilion handicapped accessible for residents.
