Minn. man dies while swimming in St. Croix River

St. Croix River (WQOW) - A Minnesota man has died after going for a swim in the St. Croix River, but authorities are not prepared to call it a drowning.

The St. Croix County sheriff says Lee Vang, 23, of St. Paul was on the river with friends Sunday afternoon. They were in a boat and Vang jumped out wearing a life jacket. He was about 10 feet from shore when he asked for help. He lost consciousness. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

At this point investigators are waiting to learn what the autopsy says.
