New contracts for Alliant Energy Center

MADISON (WKOW) -- New contracts with the Alliant Energy Center will keep some major events in Dane County and help fund new facilities.

County Executive Joe Parisi made the announcement Wednesday. The contracts mean the World Dairy Expo and Midwest Horse Fair will continue at the Alliant Energy Center for at least the next 10 years.

Parisi says the Dairy Expo was especially important to keep in Madison, because it's "an international trade show that brings about $19 million in economic impact regionally when it's here in Dane County and over $50 million in economic impact across the state of Wisconsin."

The contracts also include $4 million to fund two new state-of-the-art multi-use pavilions at the Alliant Energy Center.
