WI appeals judge will run for election

MADISON (WKOW) – A former legislator says he will run in next year's spring election to retain his seat as a Wisconsin appeals court judge.

Democrat Gary Sherman served in the state Assembly from 1998 until 2010.  Then former Governor Jim Doyle appointed Sherman to replace retiring Judge Burnie Bridge on the 4th District Court of Appeals.  Sherman took the bench in May of that year.

Sherman has a law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a past president of the Wisconsin Bar Association.

The election for his position is set for April.
