Burnett County (WQOW) - There's new information on a shooting this week northwest of Spooner. Sheriffs officials tell WQOW News 18 the man who was shot is 60-year-old Russell Scutowski.

He was allegedly shot by Angus Semple late Wednesday night. Semple was taken to jail but no charges have been filed at this point. The sheriff says the initial investigation indicates that Scutowski's girlfriend was at Semple's home after she and Scutowski had an argument.

Scutowski allegedly tried to push his way into the house when he was shot in the shoulder with a 22-caliber pistol. The sheriff says it appears Scutowski was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The case is still under investigation.
