Young hero talks about saving kindergartner's life

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison student who saved the life of a younger boy talks about what he did on Wake Up Wisconsin.

Cyrus Lashore just finished 5th grade at Schenk Elementary School. In December, the school safety patroller pulled a kindergartner back from running into the street just as a bus was passing by. The heroics earned him a AAA Lifesaving Medal

Since Cyrus won the medal, he's gotten to take a trip to Washington D.C. and was an honorary co-captain of the Milwaukee Bucks at a recent game. Cyrus says he got to meet his favorite player.

Cyrus' dad, D'Angelo Lashore says he couldn't be prouder of his son. He tells Wake Up Wisconsin he didn't believe it at first when Cyrus told him he had saved someone's life.
