Governor Walker's administration recommending pay raise for state workers

MADISON (WKOW) --- Governor Scott Walker's administration is calling for a 1 percent pay raise for all state and UW workers in each of the next two years.

The Associated Press received a letter laying out the pay plan proposal.

The eight lawmakers on a special legislative committee, also got the letter as they are set to vote on approving the pay plan Wednesday.

Earlier this month, UW Board of Regents voted to ask that UW employees get the same raises as state workers.

The last system-wide pay increase was in 2008.

State workers have not gotten an increase as a whole, in the past four years.
