Kayaker rescued from White River in Walworth County

TOWN OF LYONS (WKOW) --- Walworth County Sheriff's Department responded to White River in the Town of Lyons Wednesday afternoon for a call on a trapped kayaker.

Deputies found two people pinned against a log.

Officials say a woman had her kayak flip over, when a man tried to help her, he too fell out of his kayak.

Jim McKay, 48, of Lake Villa, IL was the man who tried to help the kayaker.

The victim is Adriane M Granlund, 29, of Elkhorn.  Granlund was taken to the hospital and her injuries are unknown.

Deputies say the rainfall contributed to the fast moving waters, and warns boaters that fast moving water is dangerous right now.
