Man sentenced for crash that killed brother

SPARTA (WKOW) – A Sparta man has been sentenced to five years in prison for killing his brother in a drunk driving accident.

In Monroe County on Thursday, Jason Schodenberg says he doesn't remember who was behind the wheel before the crash in July 2009. Thirty-three-year-old Glenn Schodenberg died when their car rolled over in the town of Jefferson.  Authorities say Jason fled from the scene after the crash and denied that he was involved.

Jason Schodeberg's ex-girlfriend told authorities that he had confessed to driving drunk and crashing the car in May 2012.

According to the La Crosse Tribune, Jason Schodenberg told Judge Mark Goodman that he's ready to deal with his drug and alcohol addiction that have played a role in his criminal record, including the latest conviction of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
