Operation "Dry Water" this weekend

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is taking part in Operation "Dry Water"  this weekend.

It's a nationwide effort to keep drunk drivers off the water.

DNR wardens plan to step up water patrols this weekend.

"Operating a boat has the same limits as operating a car at 0.08 fines are very stiff and there is jail time for repeat offenders," said DNR warden Ben Herzfeldt

During the program last year, Wisconsin wardens made 11 arrests and wrote more than 700 citations.
