New disc golf course opens in Dane County

MADISON (WKOW) -- There's a new golf course in Dane County; disc golf, that is.

Friday, the Capital Springs Disc Golf Course opened near Lake Farm County Park just west of Lake Waubesa.

It's a full 18 hole course for disc throwers of all ages.

"It's a growing sport. It's a popular sport. It gets people outdoors and it allows people to have some nice outdoor recreation surrounded by beautiful surroundings," said county executive Joe Parisi.

Capital Springs is Dane County's second disc golf course.

The first, at Token Creek County Park, was expanded from 18 holes to 27 holes last year due to the growing popularity of the sport and that course.

A Dane County disc golf permit works at both Capital Springs and Token Creek disc golf courses, but it is not accepted at City of Madison disc golf courses.

An annual disc golf permit is $48, and a daily permit $8.
