Police looking for downtown robbery suspect


MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Department is investigating a robbery that happened on the 10 Block of North Hancock Street.

On June 30th, around 4:30 a.m., a 19-year-old female from Sun Prairie was walking when she was approached by another female.  The suspect asked for money and hit her on the ankle with a metal object.

The suspect took cash and a cell phone.  The victim was treated for minor injuries.

The suspect has not been caught.  Police describe her as a black female around 250 pounds.  She has dreadlocks and glasses.  She was wearing a navy blue shirt and yellow sweat pants.
