Senator Baldwin reacts to delay of ACA employer insurance mandate
MADISON (WKOW) -- Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) says the decision to delay the Affordable Care Act's employer insurance mandate may be a surprise, but its important to make sure the federal government gets it right before putting in effect.
Sen. Baldwin made her comments at a news conference at UW-Madison Wednesday morning.
Late Tuesday, the U.S. Treasury Department announced a key ACA provision which requires employers with more than 50 full-time employees to provide health insurance by 2014, would be delayed until 2015.
A Treasury spokesperson said the decision was in reaction to increasing concerns expressed by the business community and a desire by the federal government to help simplify the process.
