Slow/No Wake Orders removed for Lakes Monona and Kegonsa

MADISON (WKOW) -- Slow/No Wake Orders will expire on two lakes in the Madison area ahead of the holiday weekend.

The Dane County Executive's Office says the order issued for Lake Kegonsa will be removed at sunrise on Thursday, July 4th. The following morning, Friday, July 5th, the order expires for Lake Monona.

The orders will be removed because lake levels have dropped.

The Slow/No Wake Orders for Lakes Waubesa and Crystal are still in effect. The county says water levels in Waubesa continue to drop and are expected to fall enough to lift the order within the next few days. The order for Crystal Lake will be in effect indefinitely.

Anyone who violates the orders could face a fine by the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
