Packers' Nelson to star in new WI tourism ad

MADISON (WKOW) – A well-known Green Bay Packers wide receiver will star in a new Wisconsin tourism ad this fall.

The state Department of Tourism says Jordy Nelson and his wife, Emily, will be in the commercial.  Wisconsin native Jerry Zucker will direct the commercial.

The Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau will have a premier party at the Meyer Theater in Green Bay on August 1.  On September 9, the ad will start running in Milwaukee, Chicago and the Twin Cities.

State Tourism officials say Nelson will write a monthly blog during the football season for and appear at the Governor's Conference on Tourism in Lake Geneva next March.

Zucker directed "Airplane!" with his brother, David Zucker, who has directed two previous Wisconsin tourism ads.
