Western WI woman accused of welfare fraud

AMERY (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin woman will be in court later this month on charges of welfare fraud.

Julie Firnstahl, from Amery, is accused of fraudulently receiving nearly 20,000 dollars from the Foodshare, Badgercare, and W2 programs.

She allegedly failed to report that her boyfriend was living with her and her son, which would have put her over the income limit to receive assistance. Investigators say she also failed to mention she was getting some of the same benefits from the State of Minnesota.
