UPDATE: ATV driver killed in crash identified

UPDATE: The driver killed in the ATV crash on July 4th in Jackson County has been identified as John W. Bandusky, 58, of Palo Heights, Ill.

Initial information in the investigation indicate speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Results of an autopsy are still pending.

Jackson County Sheriff's Department (Press Release) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin DNR investigated an ATV Crash fatality on Thursday, July 04, 2013, at approximately 1:54PM.

The investigation revealed that a single rider had been traveling on County Forest Road 200 in the Town of City Point when he lost control of his ATV and crashed into a tree. The rider was a white male who was visiting the ATV Trail System from out of state. The rider was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Jackson County Coroner.
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending notification of relatives. The Jackson County Coroner has scheduled an autopsy.
