Motorcyclist injured after colliding with deer in Pierce County

Press Release from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department: On July 4, 2013 at about 10:12 a.m., the Pierce County Sheriff's Department was notified of a motorcycle vs. deer accident with injuries on State Highway 29 west of US Highway 63.

Investigation showed a westbound motorcycle on State Highway 29 operated by Michael T. Fritz, 42-years-old, of Rural Spring Valley, WI, struck a deer that entered the roadway. After impacting the deer, Fritz's 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle overturned, ejecting Fritz.

Fritz was transported to the River Falls Hospital by Ellsworth Ambulance service with undetermined injuries.

The Ellsworth Fire Department assisted at the scene.
