27 Kids Who Matter: Penny Molina gives back in more ways than one

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Planning big events is what Penny Molina does best. She's owned an event management business for 25 years so when she wanted to give back, she knew where to start. She's been helping Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County with fundraising.

"It's not just planning a party to help with funding. It's about helping a life, become a great life and for me that was the draw," Molina says.

Her next big event is the organization's gala on July 12, with featured guest Donald Driver.

"It's not just planning a party to help with funding. It's about helping a life become a great life and for me that was the draw," she says.

But now Molina has a new part to play with the organization, she's ready to become a Big. "So it's a chance for me to give back to them and really pay it forward," Molina says.

Now she's waiting to be matched. "We're grateful to people like Penny and others who step up and say, 'Let me donate my time, my treasure and my talent.' That's an incredible gift to a child in this community," BBBS Executive Director Dora Zuniga says.

The gala on July 12 is sure to be a success with Molina's help. Bigs and littles will be there to share their success stories and Donald Driver will be talking about his mission to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County.
