Man arrested for 5th OWI offense

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- A Janesville man was almost three times over the legal limit when he was arrested for his 5th OWI offense.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, about 7:00 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted near Manogue Road in Janesville. The driver, 34-year-old Jeremy Maurer, admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day.

Maurer agreed to a preliminary breath test, which showed a result of .23 percent, which is almost three times the legal limit of .08 percent.

Maurer was arrested and taken to the Rock County Jail for his 5th OWI offense. His initial court appearance will be on Monday.
